Assist. Prof. Dr. Gizem Kuçak Toprak
She received B.Arch. degree (2009) being awarded first-class honors from Karabuk University Department of Architecture. She earned M.Arch. degree on Architecture Competitions in the Department of Architecture, Gazi University. In the same department, she received her Ph.D. degree in 2020 with new building designs in historic cities. After having the opportunity to work in different sectors and fields, she continued her academic studies as a research assistant (2013-2016), lecturer (2016-2020) and Assistant of Professor (2020-2021) in Atılım University Department of Architecture between 2013-2021. She served as a lecturer in architectural project, basic design, architectural expression techniques courses. In line with her research on the relationship between science fiction and architecture; her research on learning architecture by experience, she opened and conducted Science Fiction and Architecture and Architectural Researches Insitu courses. She has served as a thesis monitoring committee membership, thesis qualification, thesis defense, seminar jury membership in master's and doctoral theses and referee some journals. She is interested in new building designs in historical cities, architecture competitions, architecture design, architecture education, architectural researches insitu, science fiction and architecture and the future of space.
